How to Join
Join the First State Garrison – Delaware’s Chapter of the 501st Legion!

Are you a Star Wars fan living in Delaware? Do you love bringing iconic characters to life through screen-accurate costumes? If so, we’d love to have you join the First State Garrison, Delaware’s official chapter of the 501st Legion—the world’s premier Star Wars costuming organization!

Becoming a member is an exciting journey, and we’re here to help guide you through the process.

Submitting An Application

Age Requirement: You must be 18 years or older to apply.

Application: Complete the 501st Legion application on the official Legion homepage.

Photos: Submit high-quality photos of yourself in your costume (front, back, and both sides).

Approval Process: Our Garrison Membership Liaison (GML) will review your costume to ensure it meets the Legion’s screen-accuracy standards. If adjustments are needed, we’re happy to help you refine your look!

Official Membership: Once your costume is approved and you receive your official Legion ID number, you’ll officially become a member of both the 501st Legion and the First State Garrison!

Steps
Step 1:
Connect With Us
The first step is reaching out! Submit a contact message on our website to get started. We’re happy to answer any questions and guide you through the process. You don’t have to go it alone—we’ll help you connect with experienced members who can offer advice and support.
Step 2:
Choose Your Costume
There are many iconic costumes to choose from! You can find a full list of approved costumes [here].

Additionally, each costume has its own dedicated Detachment, where members share tips, resources, and build guides. Check out the list of detachments [here].

Step 3:
Submit Your Costume for Approval
Once your costume is complete, it’s time for approval! You’ll need to submit high-quality photos to a Garrison Member Liaison (GML) (or Garrison Membership Officer (GMO) in some cases).
Make sure to take clear, well-lit photos from multiple angles:

Helmet Off (if your costume includes one)
A plain background is best to help showcase your costume details.
